ShiShi Creations Baby Weaning Bib Review

ShiShu Creations Baby Weaning Bib Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I am always looking for new and improved baby products that I can share with others and give for baby shower gifts.  I don’t just want to find the everyday item that everyone else does, but that everyday item enhanced.  This time I found a baby bib that is so much more than just a plain bib.

I am not a fan of baby lead weaning (which is when you put the food you are eating out for your child and they feed themselves instead of doing baby food first), but know many are.  The ShiShu Creations Baby Weaning Bib is the perfect compliment to cleaning up the messes from a baby feeding themselves.  This bib is long sleeve, with a Velcro closure on the back of the neck and an elastic Velcro strap that can be used to secure the bottom of the bib around a highchair tray.  Since the bib is washable by hand, machine, or simply wiped off it makes cleaning the bib after eating an easy task.  Instead of having to worry about food falling down onto the baby’s lap between the tray and baby this bib will catch it all making clean up much easier.  Although if you have a dog, they won’t like the bib!

I used the bib on, Tiny, to see if it would still work for her when she wasn’t sitting in a highchair and I was pleasantly surprised.  It was simple to put the bib on through her arms and securing it around the neck.  I just laid the bib out on the table and put her food and drink on top of the bib.  It managed to catch all of her crumbs and noodles that somehow either missed her mouth or fell out of her bowl without making the table or floor a mess.  When it came time to clean her up, I took the bib off and cleaned it up in the sink.  Once I washed it, I hung it over the back of a chair to dry for her next meal.

The ShiShu Creations Baby Weaning Bib can also be used as an artist smock.  This is perfect because the strap that attached around a baby highchair tray can now be secured around the baby/toddler’s waist preventing clothes from getting stained when painting or coloring.  Since this came as a 2-pack of bibs I took the other bib and left it at the art table so Tiny could put it on when she was feeling artistic.  While I didn’t catch her wearing the bib, I did see that when see managed to get it off she left it on the corner of the art table for the next time she decided to paint.

The ShiShu Creations Baby Weaning Bib 2-pack is $44.99 on Amazon.com.  Click here to order the ShiShu Creations Baby Weaning Bib.

Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament Review

Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

This past year has been one that will not be forgotten anytime soon.  With that being said I wanted a way to remember it by that would be funny later on when we look back.  I try every year to get an ornament that represents either something we did that year or describes the year as a whole for us.  This past year has the best and easiest description yet, CORONOVIRUS.  Need I say anymore?

This ornament that explains everything from the past year:  the Coronavirus (COVID-19), toilet paper shortage, hand sanitizer, and of course how could we forget face mask?  The ornament is made of a silicone plastic so there is a little bit of flexibility.  I like that I didn’t have to worry about it breaking when I was adding vinyl to it, or when the kids touched it.  (Of course, they had to touch it.)  I selected the ornament with 4 people so there would be one for each of us.  There is the option to have 2-6 people on the ornament.  I personalized the ornament for our family.

I used my Cricut to cut out the names for each person Dad, Mom, Sawyer, and Piper.  I also wanted to add a saying on the toilet paper that is unrolled.  My favorite from this past year is “The Year The 💩 Got Real.” Piper and Sawyer think it is funny there is Emoji Poop on the ornament.  It also helps so I don’t write profanity on the ornament.

The Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament is $7.99 on Amazon.com.  Click here to order the Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament.

Tryazon lil' Gourmet Organic Meals Party Review

Tryazon lil’ Gourmet Organic Meals Party Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for hosting a party.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I love to host parties for my friends and family.  I have hosted parties through different companies and this is through Tryazon.  This party was the lil’ Gourmet Organic Meals.  I myself don’t mind baby food but am not very adventurous when it comes to different foods or flavors.  I thought this could have been a good introduction for the adults and kiddos, to try some new flavors.

So let me give you a little set up of the party.  B and I went shopping at Meijer ahead of time to get one of each flavor of the baby food so we could sample them at the party. (It is also available at some Targets.)  The flavors were not your usual green beans or bananas.  Here are the six different varieties available:

  • Cinnamon Beets & Apples
  • Moroccan Butternut Squash
  • Spanish Corn and Bean Gazpacho
  • Sweet Potato Curry
  • Coconut Cauliflower Mash
  • Pumpkin Navy Bean Shawarma

Background on the Product

These baby foods were created by a working mom, Shibani, who did not like the baby food from a canned jar.  So she decided to make her own baby food for her child.  With all the time that it took she decided to launch the food she made knowing there must be other parents looking for truly nutritious, delicious, and vegetable focused meals.

I have to say that I agree because I made all the baby food for my kiddos.  For S I was still making baby food and adding it to smoothies until he was 6.  He didn’t realize that pumpkin wasn’t a normal flavor you added to a smoothie with some strawberries and yogurt!  Yup he at some crazy combos and loved all of them.    Since both of my kids liked crazy combos of veggies and fruits in smoothies, I knew they would be willing to try this food to give a true review in different age ranges.

Having the Party and Trying the Baby Food

With everything going on right now it is not the easiest to have a party and share with others.  We got together with the few people we have been seeing this year and had a little appetizer sampler of baby food before we ate dinner.  I had adults and the kids try the baby food to get a good reading of how it was.  Some of the adults are picky eater a.k.a. me, and others will eat almost anything.  The same can be said for the kiddos, willing to try it, whose age range went from 1,2, 4, 6, 7, and 10.  This is where the fun really began.

Since the youngest didn’t really know what beets, or gazpacho where we let them try first.  I had spoons out for each person and for each flavor so there was no double dipping!  Tiny (Little B) was our first sampler and liked the Cinnamon Apples and Beets.  She actually asked for more so I put a little in a bowl for her and she ate it.  Since it was beets, I should have put the bibs provided in the party kit on each kid no matter the age that way if they spit any of it out it would not stain their clothes.  Tiny was the only person who liked the Cinnamon Apples and Beets.  Everyone else kids and adults who tried it were not happy.  Some of the kids were spitting it out immediately, some got drinks, and we even had one cry.  So that flavor was a bust and went on to the next.

I knew that most of the group like butternut squash soup so I thought the Moroccan Butternut Squash would be a winner.  Tiny took one bit and said, “Aack. Yucky.”   Okay, obviously she didn’t like it.  S tried it for me (because he is a good sport about it) and did not like it either.  The 4 and 6-year-old tried it only to have one spit it out and one use a napkin to get it off her tongue.  None of the adults liked it either.  I knew I probably would not like it but I don’t like butternut squash.  But others who love to eat butternut squash soup, and love spices did not like it either.  Part of the problem could have been that it is recommended to eat all the baby food cold out of the fridge so that is what we did.  At this point, no one was willing to give it a second chance if we warmed it up.

The third and last one we tried, yes last one we tried was the Sweet Potato Curry.  Again most of the group like sweet potatoes, sweet potato mash, and sweet potato fries.  S loved to have sweet potatoes in his smoothie.  Tiny was the first to try it and refused to open her mouth for me.  She is one that I can usually bribe with a treat and she would try it.  She was not having it no matter what I tried to bribe her with she would not try the baby food.  She did however go back and eat a few more bites of the Cinnamon Apples and Beets!  None of the other little kids would try it and by this time I only had one adult willing to try it.  S did try it for me and did not like this one either.  The adult who loves curry I thought for sure would think this was at least okay.  Sadly, she did not.  This was another bust for the group.

By now you can see where this taste test we had going on was going and no one was willing to try the last three flavors.  I cannot report back on the Spanish Corn and Bean Gazpacho, Pumpkin Navy Bean Shawarma, or the Coconut Cauliflower Mash.  All the young kiddos did go home with a new bib to use when eating.  Other than not having a great experience trying the different lil’ GourmetOrganic Meals the kids did have a great time getting to spend some time together.

Nice Goods 12-Pack Pumpkin Tealights Review

Nice Goods 12-Pack Pumpkin Tealights Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

Tealights are a must for Halloween.  I cannot wait to put tealights in the pumpkins after the kids carve them so see them come to life.  These tealights are awesome because not only do they work in the pumpkins a.k.a Jack-O-Lantern, but they also can be used for decoration.  The tealights are battery operated so I liked that I didn’t have to worry about lighting them every night and blowing out the candles before I go to bed.

The tealights flickered which gave them a real feel.  The tealights could be used for the entire fall season when I turned them around to not show the jack-o-lantern face.

The only real drawback was they were not on a timer so the only option for them were on or off.  If they had a timer, I wouldn’t have to worry about them at all.  Some nights I would forget to turn on the candles so the jack-o-lanterns went dark on those nights.

Running Girl Workout Wear Review

Running Girl Workout Wear Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

As many know I only started working out on a daily basis just over a year ago, about 17 months ago to be exact.  While I didn’t have a use for exercise clothing before, now I do.  Yeah, more clothes for me to buy.  I do not like to wear constrictive clothing when I am working out.  I usually wear a sports bra, t-shirt, and shorts.  I don’t usually stray from my regular choices.  This time I decided to give a few new pieces a try to see how they worked for me.

Running Girl Strappy Bra, Medium Support

The Running Girl Strappy Bra, Medium Support looked super cute when selecting it online.  I even liked it when I took it out of the package.  When trying it on, I was not impressed with the fit.  The straps were cute and I loved how it gave it some character, but really I wear the sports bra under a t-shirt so no one is going to see it anyways.  The size was correct for me, but the fit was a little off.  It was not the most comfortable and I felt like what little I had would not be held in place.  So this was a fail for me.

Running Girl Strappy Bra, Light Support

The Running Girl Strappy Bra, Light Support again looked super cute online.  I loved the extra straps in the front.  The eyelets in the front and back are designed to help your body cool and dry.  There is removable padding, but if you keep the padding in you have to be careful so that it does not move and you can see it through the eyelets.  The material was easy to snag, and but the time I was done trying it on I had already snagged it.  I ordered the correct size and the fit was good.  I am undecided on whether I like it or don’t like it.

Running Girl Ombre High Waist Leggings

The Running Girl Ombre High Waist Leggings held so many promises that I had to try them.  The waist is 4 inches higher to eliminate “muffin tops” and provide a secure fit.  The pants have a 4-way stretch, are moisture wicking, soft performance fabric, and stretchy compression fabric.  The best part of the pants is they are 100% squat proof!  I have seen many girls in the gym bend over and I can tell exactly what color or style of underwear they are wearing.  These leggings have enough thickness with breathability to be comfortable and avoid embarrassment at the gym.  I ordered a Large.  In their size chart a large is a 10-12.  I am an 8-10 so in between sizes and decided to go with the bigger size.  The fit on them was fine.  The legs were a little long, but not too loose.  I am not a huge fan of designs on leggings I just feel they draw more unwanted attention to areas I would otherwise like to hide.  The ombre effect on them is super cute and I really did like the softness of the material.  They would be great for the gym if I wore leggings to the gym!  I would say these leggings are a huge YES!

Facemask Lanyard Jewelry Making Review

Facemask Lanyard Jewelry Making Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

Now that P and S have to wear masks to school every day.  With the smaller children (K-4) the school decided to buy lanyards for each child to attach to their masks so when they take them off, they are still hanging on them and not being set down to be lost or get more germs.  P did not really care for the black lanyard that she was given and wanted something “cute” as she said.

I did a little shopping looking for stretch cord/elastic, beads, and lobster claw hooks so I could make her a few.  Believe it or not elastic is still super hard to find so I decided on plastic stretch cord.  We already had some beads at home, so I got a few more different kinds at the Dollar Tree.  I couldn’t find the lobster claws I wanted but when I came home, I was happy to see I was approved to review jewelry lobster claws so it was perfect timing.  I also got approved for 20 Halloween Charms26 Metal Charms with Enamel Initials, and 600 8mm Satin Luster Faux Pearl Beads.  This was great and I was able to make 3 different lanyards and a bracelet for P so she now can “match” her lanyard to her outfit and masks.

The lobster claws are the perfect size at 23mm x 12mm and came in a set of 50.  I got 2 packs of them so I could make a ton of the lanyards for P or any of her friends.  With the lobster claws that are larger it is easier for small fingers to open and close the clasp so they can change out what mask they are going to wear.

I was able to find small seed beads that are Frozen colors, shape beads, and wooden beads at the Dollar Store.  With the beads I made a Frozen inspired lanyard with P’s name on it.  The name beads we already had at home.  The other lanyard I made her was with the wooden beads and shape beads.  She really loved the first two lanyards that I made and was happy with them until she saw the other beads and charms, I got and wanted more.

The Halloween Charms came in a set of 20 (2 of each).  They would probably be ideal for making earring sets, but P really wanted a Halloween charm bracelet so that is what I did.  I was able to find beads that we had from home that were orange and black.  Combining them with the charms was just enough for the size of P’s wrist.

The 26 Metal Charms with Enamel Initials I picked to have the light blue enamel because they were the Frozen blue color.  Does anyone else see a theme with these lanyards or is it just me?  I couldn’t make the word “Piper” because there are two p’s  and I only had one.  So P got to choose from the word “Frozen” or “Elsa.”  She of course picked Elsa. So I made a lanyard with the remaining beads that I had that were Frozen colors adding in the E, L, S, A letters.  Since there was not an extra O-ring on each letter, I had to individually tie each letter so they were turned out.  I actually like this one the best out of the four I made.

The 600-piece Linsoir Satin Pearl Beads came 15 different colors in a plastic storage container.  P and I discussed on what pattern she would want in the lanyard we made with these beads.  She decided on trying to put princess colors together.  For example, Snow White would be red and blue, Elsa and Anna would be light blue and pink, etc.  P loved the way the lanyard turned out and was so excited to wear it to school.

The following can be found on Amazon.com.

Linsoir Beads Lobster Clasp-50 count

Linsoir Beads Assorted Halloween Charms-20 pieces.

Linsoir Beads Metal Charms with Enamel Initials-26 pieces.
