Ace Camp Kids Sleeping Bag Review 12/10/19

Ace Camp Kids Sleeping Bag Review

P was given a sleeping bag a few years ago and really it is not made for using outside of inside the house.  She really needs a heavy duty sleeping bag that is going to keep her warm if she plans to sleep out in the play house this summer.  I found this sleeping bag and loved the idea of it.

It has constellations all over it that glow in the dark after the sleeping bag is put in direct sunlight or under artificial light.  The trim of the bag I chose was blue so it could work for a boy or a girl.  P loved the sleeping bag.  It was lightweight yet she said she was warm in it.  The zipper itself was easy access so you could zip the bag up from the inside or outside.  The top of the bag has elastic to hug P’s head so it will keep her warm and provides a sort of pillow for her.

I let S try to climb inside of it but he is too big for it.  The recommended maximum height on the bag is 54”.  S is currently 58”.  He could fit in it top to bottom, but said it was not comfortable.

Wisita Large Orthopedic Dog Bed Review 12/9/19

Wisita Large Orthopedic Dog Bed Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

I am all about finding a better dog bed for PJ.  She must have 10 dog beds in our house and she rarely will sleep on them after the first month owning them.  The padding wears out and she doesn’t find them comfortable anymore.  I found this dog bed and thought it may really work out for PJ.  The Wisita Large Orthopedic Dog Bed is 7.8 inches thick made of high-density memory foam.  It comes with a removable cover and built in headrest.  The size of the dog bed is 52”x36”x7.8”.

The bed came tightly rolled up and sealed.  The kids love to watch the bed magically grow as we let it get to its full size.  It took well over an hour to get to the full size.  The dog bed is wrapped in a Tyvek cover and then a soft removable cover made of ultra-soft flannelette protective cloth.  The bed was so soft and comfortable that P slept on it when her and S had a sleepover one night in her bedroom.  She easily fit on the bed and I was able to lay next to her.  There was plenty of room.

The Wisita Large Orthopedic Dog Bed is $269.95 on Amazon.com.  Click here to order the Wisita Large Orthopedic Dog Bed.

2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament Review 12/8/20

Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament Review

Disclaimer:  I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review.  All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

This past year has been one that will not be forgotten anytime soon.  With that being said I wanted a way to remember it by that would be funny later on when we look back.  I try every year to get an ornament that represents either something we did that year or describes the year as a whole for us.  This past year has the best and easiest description yet, CORONOVIRUS.  Need I say anymore?

This ornament that explains everything from the past year:  the Coronavirus (COVID-19), toilet paper shortage, hand sanitizer, and of course how could we forget face mask?  The ornament is made of a silicone plastic so there is a little bit of flexibility.  I like that I didn’t have to worry about it breaking when I was adding vinyl to it, or when the kids touched it.  (Of course, they had to touch it.)  I selected the ornament with 4 people so there would be one for each of us.  There is the option to have 2-6 people on the ornament.  I personalized the ornament for our family.

I used my Cricut to cut out the names for each person Dad, Mom, Sawyer, and Piper.  I also wanted to add a saying on the toilet paper that is unrolled.  My favorite from this past year is “The Year The ðŸ’© Got Real.” Piper and Sawyer think it is funny there is Emoji Poop on the ornament.  It also helps so I don’t write profanity on the ornament.

The Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament is $7.99 on Amazon.com.  Click here to order the Yumttero 2020 Christmas Coronavirus Ornament.

Shhh! It's Sunday 11/20/19

Shhh! It’s Sunday

I want to tell you what we are doing right at the moment that I take the picture, whether it is at 1am or 1pm on Sunday.  Just a quick snapshot into a day in our lives.

Currently….

It is 6:18pm

P is working on her Turkey Tom disguise. She decided she wanted to make the turkey look like Elsa so I did my best to try and figure something out. This is what we came up with together. I did the braid and printed the Elsa face for her, but she did all the cutting, gluing and glittering on the page.

S had his tablet taken away for the weekend so he has been busy doing different stuff. He is currently working on putting a Lego set together. He doesn’t usually put Lego kits together anymore, but once in a while he will surprise me.

I am helping P with her turkey disguise.

B is working on making me a display in the garage for Christmas decorations.

Troubled Tuesday 11/13/19

Troubled Tuesday

Troubled Tuesday is basically my complaint day to complain about all the troubles I have, which could range from what is happening on TV shows to who knows what.

  • P wouldn’t got to sleep. I don’t know what was up with either of them. P wouldn’t settle down and go to sleep, and then S surprised me and came out of his bedroom. I thought he was sleeping but he wasn’t either. It was 9:45pm and they were both still awake so I had S go back to bed and laid down with P so she would fall asleep. It only took a few minutes to get P to fall asleep. Of course, I got into the book I was reading and stayed in there for an hour reading. When I came out B told me the kids had a 2-hour delay due to weather. They really did need the delay because the roads sucked. We probably got about 4 inches give or take.
  • P woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t stop coughing. I don’t think the inhalers that were prescribed are doing anything. We may have to make another trip back to the doctors. When she woke up I couldn’t get her to settle back down. Eventually she asked if we could sleep in my bed. Yup, not a problem I am just as tired and want to sleep, too. We got a call in the morning to let us know that school had been cancelled due to weather. S got up at his regular time of 6am, but P slept till 8am which she really needed.
  • I really need to work on P and S’s bedrooms. They both need to size up in clothes so that means washing all the new clothes, cleaning out their dressers and putting all the new clothes away. Once that is done I need to rearrange P’s bedroom and organize/clean it up. S also needs a little help getting his room organized/clean.
  • When I get the bedrooms done then I need to go through P’s toys and purge from the living room and then work in the playroom and purge all the toys S doesn’t play with (which is most of them) and P’s toys that she no longer plays with.

What is troubling you?

Manic Monday 11/12/19

Manic Monday

Manic Mondays are when I let you know what plans I have for the week. Some weeks I may be very busy where other weeks there may not be any plans. I have also decided to do a quick recap of what we actually did versus what I thought we were going to do. Halloween week was a busy one for us. Some days I didn’t even crack open my laptop let alone sit down to write a post. I am going to do my best now that things have settled down a little to get back into the groove of it.

Starting 11/11/2019

This Week-I am taking the week off from working out. I am going to try to let the back of my knee heal so it doesn’t hurt when and after I work out. In the past 6 months of working out I have only taken 1 week off from working out. When I did that my other knee healed.

Monday-I am working out in the morning because I wanted to finish The Open, which is a 5-part workout that is done to qualify for the Crossfit games. I, of course, am in no way trying to qualify I just wanted to see if I could do the workouts. I did have to scale all the workouts so I could complete them, but I did. I am watching my niece during the day. It is predicted that we will get a ton of snow starting sometime during the day.

Tuesday-I am not working out so I get to sleep in till 7:30am! After school there is a school fundraiser at Ohio Skate. I know the kids will want to go, but I don’t because I don’t think that is going to help my knee get better.

Wednesday-No plans for the day, the kids have school and then just hanging out at home.

Thursday-Another day of school and no plans. I am cleaning the gym in the afternoon.

Friday-Wait……we have crossing guard duty in the morning, school for the kids, and another day of no other plans.

Saturday-There is storytime at the library in the morning with Mary Poppins. I think P would really like it so I am going to try to take her. I don’t plan on telling her till that morning just in case something comes up.

Sunday-We have no plans for the day. I am planning on watching the last Nascar race of the season and see who the winner is. It’s like the World Series or Super Bowl of Nascar. S will probably watch some of it with me, or just ask for me to show him the accidents.

Last Week Recap

Monday the kids had school. After school they went to their grandma’s so I could go do a painting class. This is the first of two this week. We (my neighbor and I) were excited to go because we had not done a painting in over 6 months and it is just a fun time to hang out together.

Tuesday I watched my niece during the day. While my niece was taking a nap, I ran out to Target because some of the Target’s Halloween clearance went 90% off. Ours did not so I headed back home. The kids didn’t have school because of voting. We hung out at home the rest of the day.

Wednesday I worked out in the morning and then had planned on going to Target and waiting in the parking lot until they opened at 8am. I checked brickseek.com and it showed that only 2 of the 4 Targets in my area went 90%. So I went to both Targets and then the Wal-Mart at Spring Meadows to check out what they had for clearance. I picked up some Halloween books at 75% off. I needed to get a few to finish some Christmas gifts and didn’t want to take a chance that there wouldn’t be any left when it went 90%. I got a ton of costumes for P and even the new Frozen 2 costumes (which she is getting for Christmas). When I got home I put P on the bus and then organized all the clearance, took pictures, and put it away. I did another painting class in the evening. We haven’t done any in over 6 months but have done 2 in 3 days.

Thursday I hung out at home in the morning and after P got on the bus I went and cleaned the gym. I ran to Meijer afterward to check and see if there Halloween clearance went 90%. It did go 90% but there wasn’t much left that I wanted.

Friday I took S to crossing guard duty in the morning. Afterward P and I hung out at home until it was time to get her ready for school. I just hung out at home in the afternoon. It felt so weird for it to only be me home. B was at work and the kids were in school. I could totally work hard and get a ton done or take the time to myself and chill. I opted to take the time and chill.

Saturday I got up and went to the gym. I didn’t work out but helped out with counting for those who did work out. (I am doing the workout on Monday.) When I got home we went over and gave Little L her birthday presents. The kids played for a while until it was time to go home and eat dinner. In the afternoon we went to Little L’s birthday party.

Sunday we did absolutely nothing. It was a day of just hanging out at home.

Starting 11/4/2019

Last Week

Monday-The kids have school. I am going to a painting class almost as soon as they get off the bus. For some reason the class is starting earlier than normal but I like it because that means we get done earlier.

Tuesday-Today is voting day. We are going to see if the Perrysburg school levy passes or not. The kids don’t have school because of voting. They close the schools because they are used as voting locations. We have Little A all day, which the kids are excited about. S usually only gets to see her for about an hour before he leaves for school but he gets the whole day this time.

Wednesday-The kids are going back to school! I am doing another painting class. This is a last-minute addition but there are so few classes on the schedule that we are taking advantage of the addition.

Thursday-The kids have school. After P gets on the bus I am going to clean the gym.

Friday-The kids have school. We don’t have any plans for the afternoon.

Saturday-I am going to the gym to help out in the morning.

Sunday-No plans for today, just hanging out at home.

Dapper & Doll Kids Chef Hat and Apron Review 11/12/19

Dapper & Doll Kids Chef Hat and Apron Review

Disclaimer: I received this product for free or highly discounted in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are mine.

P loves to wear an apron. She not only wears it when she is pretending to cook in her kitchen, but she also wears it when she helps me bake, paints, or to pretend play. While she loves wearing an apron she hates that most of the children’s chef hats don’t fit her big head. This is the first time she got to put on a chef hat and it actually was big enough if not a little too big. Let me tell you when she put the hat on she definitely hammed it up for the camera.

The apron has an adjustable neck strap to fit comfortably. The hat has elastic on the back of it to expand to fit different size heads. That is so much better than having Velcro that can’t adjust.

The Dapper & Doll Kids Chef Hat and Apron are $10.95 on Amazon.com.  Click here to order the Dapper & Doll Kids Chef Hat and Apron.

Foto Friday 11/10/19

Foto Friday

Foto (Photo) Friday is a show and tell of pics from the past week.  It was a pretty boring week and very few pictures to show.

  • I did two painting classes last week.  I haven’t done one in probably 6 or more months.  We always have a good time when we do them.  We aren’t very good at painting but there are plenty of laughs.

  • Target Halloween clearance went 90% last Wednesday for 2 of the 4 Targets in my area.  I hit them both up.  I sat in the parking lot after working out so I could be the first one in the door.  I had to get a new Elsa and Anna costume for P that fit.  Well she got that and then some.  She has a ton of princess dresses to wear now.  I also found them Halloween shirts for next year and some jammies for my niece and nephew.  (Just imagine what I would have gotten if I went to all 4 stores!  B would have totally killed me!)

Last Week Recap

Monday we didn’t have a lot going on. I cleaned the pool for a final time this season so B could start closing it.

Tuesday B closed the pool with a little help from me. The rest of the day we just hung out at home.  I went to the Architectural Scavenger Hunt in the evening to see how I did on the hunt.  I got 2 wrong.  I thought for sure I got them all right but I was tricked.

Wednesday we ended up taking the kids to Dave & Buster’s after school. They had fun and spent most of the time playing the SpongeBob game to try and win the playing cards. I have to say I love that game as well and played just as much as they did.

Thursday I got up a little earlier than normal so I could dress up as one of the workout instructors. The kids had a 2-hour delay because of fog which really messed everything up.  I made P a doctor appointment because she just can’t kick this cough/cold. The doctor ended up giving her another inhaler (which is a steroid) this time that she will use for the next 5-7 months at least. All because of the stupid walking pneumonia that she got last year. B got S ready for school and had to assure him that we were going to bring his costume to school for him later. I got P ready for school hair and costume. B got her on the bus so I could go start cleaning the gym early so I could leave to go to the school Halloween parade. After the parade I went back to the gym to finish cleaning. When I got home the kids were already home with B. It was a quick dinner and then we had to figure out new costumes for both of them. It was windy and rainy and their costumes would not have made it. P ended up going as a cat and S went as a bag of trash. B stenciled on the word trash to a trash bag. The kids ran from house to house and had a great time. Of course, when we got home, we went through all the candy and had to sort out what we like and what we didn’t want to keep. I let both the kids keep a container of candy and that was it. The more candy we keep in the house is more candy that I will eat.

Friday the kids had school. Morning came early for them. P and I took down all the Halloween decorations.  The rest of the day we just hung out at home.

Saturday I went to the gym in the morning. Afterward I took the kids to the Home Depot build and then we went to a few stores. I wanted P to look at the costumes to see what she wanted for dress-up and then we went to Michael’s looking for beads to do a fall craft. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Sunday we did absolutely nothing. It was a day of just hanging out around the house and being lazy.

Last Week

Monday-The kids have school. There is trick-or-treating at the Maumee businesses in the afternoon that we could possibly take the kids too.

Tuesday-No plans for today. I have a meeting in the evening for the Architectural Scavenger Hunt to find out the results.

Wednesday-We are planning on taking the kids to Dave & Busters after school because of P getting on pink (on the school behavior chart) last week. We are going to give the kids the option of a Trunk or Treat or going to Dave & Busters.

Thursday-Today is Halloween and it is going to be a busy day. I have to get P ready for school which means doing her hair and getting her costume on. I have to clean the gym in the afternoon, and go to the kids Halloween parade at school. After school it will be a quick dinner and out to Trick or Treat.

Friday-S has tech club in the morning and crossing guard duty. I am hoping to get all the Halloween decorations down and the few Thanksgiving decorations up.

Saturday-I am going to the gym in the morning to help out. The kids have a build at Home Depot and then we are just hanging out at home the rest of the day.

Sunday-No plans for today just hanging out at home.
